In a time where it seems anything goes in “evangelism” the church needs to focus on the Biblical view of Evangelism and Salvation. Richard Phillips has written “Jesus the Evangelist“ in which he offers a clear view of Evangelism according to the book of John. Phillips does a great job of giving us a layout of evangelism according to Jesus. He covers issues ranging from principles of evangelism (chapter 1), the message of evangelism (beginning in chapter 3) and he shows us how Jesus put evangelism into practice (beginning in chapter 9). If you simply desire to know more about the biblical view of and how to practice evangelism the way Jesus did this book is a great resource.
Jesus the Evangelist is a good resource for pastors and teachers when covering the topic Biblical Evangelism. The book is written in a way that allows the teacher or preacher to outline the material. I recommend this book to all who want to know what Evangelism is according to scripture and to all who desire to practice Evangelism the way Jesus did.
